For a bar, they had quite an extensive menu, and some of the selections were pretty unusual. For someone who doesn't eat meat and tries not to eat cheese, however, the pickings were pretty slim. I ended up with the veggie burger and it was good, but nothing special. The kids with us were allowed to order salads instead of whatever came with their chicken strips, which was nice. My husband ordered a steak and said it was pretty good. The waitress was friendly, but when our food was brought (we seemed to be waited on by at least three different people), she put it down and immediately left without asking if we needed anything else. We had to flag her down for catsup and mustard. Then we never saw anyone again to refill our water or bring us anything until we were done and ready to leave. Friends of mine go here every week for dinner and enjoy it, so I'd give it another try, but it would be nice to have more than one vegan item on the menu.

My coworker wanted to eat here because he used to go here with his great-aunt when he was a kid. I was a little doubtful, and kind of wanted Italian, but he really wanted to go. I had a cheeseburger and fries, and it was. so. good. The burger was cooked perfectly and I ate the hell out of it.

First time there after work. Not that busy on the night I was there with a friend. My friend was a regular and that helps when everyone knows his name. I had a mixed drink and a Ruben. One of the better sandwiches I've had. I'm generally not a bar-goer, but this place was fine. Enjoy

Went here because I bought a Groupon for it. The restaurant has been a North end fixture for many years. The place is not fancy but clean and friendly. Quite an extensive menu. It is a restaurant with a bar. The bar is small near the front of the building. Hand full of bar seats and four or five booths. Pretty cozy. The food was good but not outstanding. Certainly worth a visit for dinner from time to time.

Yelp's criteria for 5 stars is "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Which is precisely my feeling about Charlie's - it's as good as it gets ... in White Cloud. They have been open since before I was alive, are consistently friendly, affordable, and have good food and beer. All comers. Charlie's is equally welcoming to locals, seasonal passers-through, and bikers. If you're going to eat out in White Cloud, you could choose the gas station Subway, one of the questionably open diners, or a place with a thick coat of character like Charlie's. Get the pizza burger because, why not. Grab a pitcher, play some pool, and put Van Halen on the jukebox.
